Confirmation Sunday, June 4th

Confirmation will take place on June 4th. At 8:30am the confirmands and their families are invited to afamily breakfast before worship. Please call the church office or Helen Sousa to confirm the number of immediate family members attending the breakfast. Our master chefs want to be prepared.

Summer Work Interships

The Board of Deacons Scholarship Fund is offering summer work internships to church members and their immediate family (a college student or a high school student entering college in the fall). Those applying must submit a completed application to the church office by June 8, 2006. (Applications are available upon request from the church office.)

New Member Class, June 4th

On Sunday, June 4th, following worship an orientation, getting to know you, get-together will be provided to those who wish to become members. On Sunday, June 18th, during worship the Church will receive into the faith our new members. This is always a special occasion as newcomers join our faith community. It is our hope that each new member will find his/her spiritual needs met. We welcome and encourage each of them to be active participants in our church life. Welcome!

BBQ & Bluegrass

Our first FCC fundraising event for the year looks like it will be a lot of fun! It will be catered by Becky’s BBQ in Middletown and there will be great music from Dave Carney and the Bluegrass Band. If you are interested in joining us please see a member of the fundraising committee or call the church office for tickets (253-7288)

Here are the details:

  • Date: Saturday, May 20th @ 6pm
  • Location: First Congregational Church, Dewolf Room
  • Menu: BBQ pulled pork, potato salad, beans, corn bread, and strawberry shortcake

Tickets:

  • $50/family (mom, dad, children)
  • $20/adult
  • $18/senior
  • $5/child (5-12)
  • children under 5 are free

The deadline for the tickets is Friday, May 19th. We hope you can make it!
