How YOU Can Help Bring Peace to Iraq…

  1. inner peaceOn Sunday, September 16, read the Pastoral Letter on the Iraq War at your church and distribute the accompanying bulletin insert widely, in commemoration of the International Day of Peace, observed annually on September 21.
  2. Sign the online petition and help us reach a goal of 100,000 signatures. Handwritten signatures should include name, city/state and church name – and an e-mail address if available – mailed to Pastoral Letter Endorsers, Justice and Witness Ministries, United Church of Christ, 700 Prospect Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115-1100.
  3. Support UCC humanitarian outreach to displaced Iraqi families.
  4. Support our troops! The Holy Joe’s Cafe in Baghdad, is a project of military chaplains who are running coffee houses to encourage our troops to come in for conversation and counseling. Coffee may be an unlikely ally of the Gospel, yet in the hands of a chaplain it can enable meaningful ministry addressing an individual’s normal reactions to extreme situations.
