FOOD PANTRY GAINS HUD APPROVAL!
We received word this week that HUD in Providence has approved the space at Franklin Court for our new food pantry and thrift shop. This exciting news now means we can go into the next phase: planning and building.
After the holidays we will be working with the staff at Franlin Court and the Town of Bristol to turn our plans into reality. One of our first steps will be to finalize a floor plan and begin to gather ideas for building and construction. We have already reache out to the faculty and staff of Mt. Hope High School to see if their home building program might want to partner with us.
What are your ideas?

Great news!
In these economic times, I fear that this will be more needed than ever. I heard recently that Rhode Island has seen a 60% increase in homelessness this year. With huge layoffs and other uncertainties, we need more efforts like this.
Have we contacted Roger Williams to see if they can somehow reach out to the student body there?

Yes, we have contacted RWU. The Feinstein Center for Service and Community Engagement has our invitation to partner with RWU on this venture. We hope to hear more from them soon!
