An additional painting work party has been scheduled this week on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. We have a lot to do and the supplies are ready for you. Please try to come and share some time in our space. At this point, the project is moving ahead because of our volunteer labor. The more we do the earlier we will be operational!

To make continued progress on the Food Pantry space we need to keep painting! On Saturday June 6 from 1-3pm we will have everything ready for you. If only 10 people come for that time, we can accomplish a lot!
We provide all the supplies, brushes, etc. You just provide the LOVE!

The East Bay Food Pantry is partnering with Pizza Wave in Bristol on Tuesday, June 16th. Simply eat in, take out or ask for delivery and mention our East Bay Food Pantry. 10% of the proceeds from that day will be donated back to the East Bay Food Pantry. The hours for this event are from 11am to 10pm. Ron Lopes, owner of Pizza Wave, will have a full crew on hand to serve you. Pizza Wave is located on Metacom Avenue next to Blockbuster Video.
We will also be running a big raffle at Pizza Wave during the day. Come in and see the amazing variety of items! We will also have staff at Pizza Wave to get you signed up for our 5k walk/run on June 20th.
It is a win-win as we work to engage, educate and empower the East Bay in creating a hunger-free community.
Please tell your friends and family about this event and ask them to support our efforts!

On Saturday May 30th from 1-4pm we will have a painting work party. We need “all hands on deck.” If you can bring a roller and a brush that will be very helpful. Our new bathroom should be operational by then.
We will be painting many different surfaces and we need a lot of people to help! Thanks for taking the time to put your faith into action. Every volunteer hour means more dollars for food to help those in need.

We will be painting the bathroom (calling all painters…..or at least one) and continuing work on refinishing the columns. We may also start sealing the brick all around the space.

Roger Williams University has awarded a grant of $2,500 to the East Bay Food Pantry, through its Fund for Civic Activity. This is the highest award given.
From the award letter:

Are you looking for a way to help the food pantry ministry? Cindy Elder has arranged with our Bristol Postmaster to have a table outside the post office on two days to promote the Food Pantry’s 5K race, which is coming right up on June 20th.
She’ll have the booth set up on Friday, May 1, from 9:30 to 1:30, and Saturday, May 9, from 9:30 to 1:30. Her goal is to hand out lots of registrations, sign people up, and raise awareness for the food pantry & thrift shop.
If you are available to help me man the booth on either of those days, please user the online foodpantry contract form and let us know you can help. Likewise, if you have any
artistic skills you’d like to put to use in creating a quick sign for the table, please let us know.
This should be a nice way to reach people who live in town and could very likely be available to participate in the race.

The CE Committee will be putting on a Carnival May 16, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, rain or shine. We will need a lot of help with the games and booths to make it successful. If you are willing to help, please contact Jamie Caromile or Helen Sousa, or sign-up in the DeWolf room.

The Women in Spiritual Education group is hosting our meeting on the third Tuesday for the next three months to discuss the book: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. The meetings will be at the Rev. Mary Aberg’s home (17 Highland Rd, Bristol RI) from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.
