From Anita Randall, Director of the East Bay Food Pantry:
For those of you who are or would like to volunteer in the food pantry, thrift shop, and/or office; we are offering an orientation on Wed. 2/3 at 9:30am and Sat. 2/6 at 9:00am. Now that we have been up and running for awhile, we are ready to add orientations and training on a regular basis.
Each active volunteer is required to complete an orientation and subsequent training in the area s/he is/will be volunteering. We will offer those at the most convenient times for the greatest number of people. Please see below for the flyer we have been giving out in the pantry and thrift shop…
To all Volunteers:
Please join us for our first Volunteer Orientation. We will have coffee and munchies for everyone and time for your feedback, questions, and ideas. We require all volunteers to attend one orientation with us. Thank you!

We will have much to celebrate on Rally Day, Sunday, September 13. Please join us for the dedication of the East Bay Food Pantry.
We’ll begin with the Sunday Service in the sanctuary, then depart after about 20 minutes to walk or drive to the food pantry. The Deacons will be offering ride support for those who desire it.
After the dedication service we will return to the church court yard for a gala picnic! Please see the list of most needed items for the food pantry in our church newsletter, or check out the list at www.eastbayfoodpantry.org
We are at the final stage of painting, and we will also be clearing the floor to prepare for professional cleaning. Final coats on several walls, trim-work, and some detail work are all that is left. After the floor is cleaned, we will paint it, and start moving in the shelving and canned food.
Please join us and help move us on to the next phase.
We have a work party planned at the food pantry Wed. July 8 from 5-8pm. All materials will be provided. There is a lot of trim work to do, some final coats here and there. We are close……..can you help us get “there?”
We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small
daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often
cannot foresee.

The weather cooperated to make for a wonderful inaugural Get Off Your Can 5k. Over 210 people registered for the walk/run and everything went very smoothly. We doubled our goal of having 100 registered participants.
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this day a memorable event and a fantastic fundraiser for our East Bay Food Pantry!
There is so much painting to do thanks to the good work of our builder, Roger Pray, that we are hoping for at least 5 people to attend a painting work party Wed June 17, from 5-8pm.
We really need to keep the progress moving ahead and we need your help. If you can help, please email Anita Randall at dbrakr@cox.net
Thanks so much!
