Prayer Shawls

The Prayer Shawl group meets on the last Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Guiteras House (281 High Street) or at the home of one of our members.  We light a candle and gather with prayer, which flows into our knitting, crocheting, and fellowship.  As each shawl or blanket is completed, it is passed around our circle and each person infuses the shawl with her own special blessing. In this way, each shawl carries the love and blessing of its maker and also the prayers of the whole circle. This is truly an experience of giving that blesses the giver as much as the one who receives!
This warm and welcoming outreach group would like to invite you to join us in our ministry if you enjoy knitting and/or crocheting – don’t worry if you are just learning, so are we!!  Also, if you know of someone who would benefit from a prayer shawl, please don’t hesitate to speak to Pastor Dan, Anita Randall, or any of the members of our group.  We appreciate your continued prayers of support for this ministry!

Stone Church Coffeehouse

Join us each month for our Stone Church Coffeehouse, Bristol’s volunteer-based, non-profit organization that fosters the appreciation of music based in or influenced by a wide variety of acoustic music. The mission of Bristol’s Stone Church Coffee House is to provide monthly opportunities for local, regional and international musicians to perform for, entertain, educate and interact with audiences in an affordable, handicap-accessible, family-friendly environment.

Annual The Church Has Left the Building Day – Early Summer

This is a day when our community of faith goes out into Bristol to do good deeds instead of holding traditional worship. We wash windows for downtown businesses, pick up litter, pay for people’s laundry and the laundromat, and many other fun, meaningful intentional acts of kindness.  Click here for our 2012 The Church Has Left the Building Day.

Washington DC Service Trip – Spring

Each year a group from our church, including many youth members, travel to Washington D.C. on Amtrak to participate in 3 days of intensive inner city service.  Click here for our 2012 Trip.

Homeless Awareness Sleep Out – Winter

The youth of our church sponsor a homeless awareness sleep out in front of the church.  They spend all night outside on the church yard in makeshift shelters and a speaker comes to discuss homelessness in RI and the East Bay.  Click here for our 2012 Homeless Awareness Sleep Out.

Annual Community Blessing of the Animals Service - Early Fall

Early Fall at Colt State Park Chapel - We work with local veterinarians and animal shelters to make it a great service. We invite local musicians to play at this festive service.  Click here for our 2012 Blessing of the Animals.

East Bay Food Pantry

Learn about and support the East Bay Food Pantry, which was founded by our congregation in 2009. Since then it has gone on to become a totally separate 501(c) 3 organization and is doing wonderful work engaging, educating and empowering the East Bay community in creating a hunger free community. This is what Jesus has to do with justice!
