The FCC family–young and old–came out this past Sunday wearing orange vests and bright purple plastic gloves and carrying big white garbage bags to pick up litter all along Hope Street, High Street, down to Independence Park and beyond. As a different way to worship–through service–members of the congregation gathered in the DeWolf Chapel, divided into groups and mapped out the areas they would cover. Then, after a prayer from the Rev. Dr. Nancy Soukup to launch the group on its mission of love, everyone fanned out from the church and scoured the downtown sidewalks, curbs and bushes for every bit of litter they could find.

In addition, Chuck Ramos organized a team to go to the homes of some of our members where help was required with specific house projects. And others joined Rev. Nancy in the DeWolf Room to write cards to our homebound members and others we know who need our support at this time.
It was a bright and sunny day and everyone had a great time walking through downtown Bristol and helping their neighbors. See you next year!
